The Art of Starting Over
[The making of chachatherobot's entry on kitchen art exhibit: Curious Buffet]
I made this *bleep* mistake of using coffee on wood. Clearly, I should have known better :(
Coffee is great for paper material. But that effect doesn't work just as fine with wood. It gave the image a good color, but considering it as coffee; it melts, doesn't last (obviously) and is easily removed by contact with water.
SO! Mighty chachatherobot has to redo the painting all over again!
This time--- with acrylics.
(Could be better with oil, but I don't have linseed and proper oil paints, so I'll just keep that in mind next time I shop for materials)
The fish is the only part that I painted with acrylics, so, FISHY SURVIVED.
Coffee removal photos!

Wood Painting + Hi Fructose Yes
Kitchen Art, Kitchen things--
Just started working on my first painting, and halfway through, I got very distracted *Watched Walking Dead season 3 on FOX*. Walkers, Aarr. Result? Failing terribly on my larger wood piece. :( I didn't quite like how it looked and it's just not working, so I stopped and proceeded to the next wood that I got.
EXHIBIT A: FAIL

EXHIBIT A: FAIL
I'm just halfway through (again) on my second painting when Mum made a comment on it.
EXHIBIT B: GETTING THERE
EXHIBIT B: GETTING THERE
Mum: She looked kind of off, don't you think?
Me: (defensively) What!? No she's not! (frantically looked at the piece)
Mum: Um, okay. Well, look at that part.. Is that how it's supposed to be then? Aww, she looked pretty though.
Me: No, I think she looks fine.
And then afterwards, Mum left the room and I was like;
ARR NUUU, Y THIS HAPPEN TO ME NAO.
In other news....
Got this in the mail! Hi Fructose vol.22 featuring the works of Gehard Demetz, DoubleParlour and Aron Weisenfeld (my favorites) Volume 25, coming soon pa! HAHA. :)
